Voicemail: Setup & Access
Voicemail is enabled automatically on every Wiley phone. When a call goes unanswered — or comes in during quiet hours — the caller hears a greeting and can leave a message.
Watch the following video or use the following steps to set up your voicemail.
1. Set Your Voicemail pin

- Navigate to Settings page in the parent portal.
- Scroll down to Voicemail
- Click the pencil icon to edit your Voicemail access pin
2. Access Voicemail from the phone by pressing the ✉️ (envelope) button on Wiley Buddy phones, or by dialing your Wiley number from a phone connected to Wiley's Magic Box.
Enter the pin you created to enter your voicemail inbox.
3. Recording a Custom Greeting
To record a personalized voicemail greeting follow the prompts from the voicemail inbox menu.
Checking Voicemail from the Phone
- Pick up the handset.
- If you have a Wiley Buddy phone, press the ✉️ (envelope) button. If you use a Magic Box (HT801) with another phone, dial your Wiley phone number.
- Enter your Voicemail pin & follow the voice prompts to listen to messages.
Tip: If there's a flashing light on the Wiley Buddy it means there are new voicemail messages waiting.
Voicemail to Email
- In the Wiley parent portal navigate to Settings.
- Under Voicemail toggle the setting on/off to receive emails with attached voicemails.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What greeting do callers hear by default? A generic system greeting that says your phone number is not available and to leave a message. Recording a custom greeting is recommended, especially if children are the primary phone users.
If you have a second phone under your account, have already recorded a voicemail greeting, and are getting the generic system again shoot us an email & we'll fix it. hello@wileyphone.com
Q: Can blocked numbers leave voicemail? No. If a number is on your blocklist, they cannot call or leave voicemail. They hear a busy signal.
